Freon 407C (R-407C) is a R-22 replacement primarily for air-conditioning. It's a HFC blend that requires a POE lubricant. R-407C is included in the U.S. EPA SNAP de-listing of HFCs that will no longer be acceptable in new equipment in certain end use applications in the U.S. market.

R-407C is a blend refrigerant developed as a substitute for HCFC-22. It is a mixture of HFC-32, HFC-125, and HFC-134a, and is a zeotropic refrigerant. It requires liquid filling to prevent change in composition. Its level of pressure is approximately the same as that of HCFC-22. It is highly compatible with ester oil and ether oil (It is not compatible with mineral oils like naphthenic oil etc. which is normally used with HCFC-22). Its moisture solubility is approximately the same level as that of HCFC-22.

Main Applications:
Residential and commercial air conditioning systems. Heat pumps Non-flooded evaporator chillers. Other unitary air conditioning systems.
Lubrication:
POE lubricants must be used with Fluoro 4o7C since its components are not miscible with the mineral oil or alkylbenzene Lubricants.
Charging:
Due to the zeotropic nature of fluoro 407C, it should be charged as a Liquid to prevent fractionation (changes in refrigerant composition). In situations where vapor is normally charged into a system, a valve should be installed in the charging line to flash the liquid to vapor while charging.
